device types that count against license

Sooo, I had an issue and did another upgrade of 4.0 to 4.0.1b. No issues there but that did put all of the WAPs back into the tool counting against our license count again. Because I just went through this I was able to fix quickly. Now, my question comes up as do "Unclassified Switch"es count against license count? If they do what is the logic? Since it is unclassified NB does not pull anything from them. I can't see any configs, ARP tables, MAC tables, nothing.

Just asking because I am trying to find 400 new devices that appeared over night and I am not sure where they are. I did find some Nortel switches that were not there before but they fall into the Unclassified Switch category.

Hi Erick,

Unclassified devices do not count against the license count.
Thanks,
Abraham

Thanks for the info Abraham. I dug on it some more and turns out I missed one type of AP so the next discovery went and re-added 400ish new APs to the tool. Got to love the discovery process, does just what it should :)
