Manually add device
In 8.0, is there a way to manually add an End System to a map if it is only part of a neighboring L2/L3 switch NDP or ARP tables? I have devices that respond to Ping, but to not have SNMP enabled and no SSH capability.

I know you can use the network tools/templates to add icons, but it doesn't add anything logically to the map.

Re: Manually add device
Netbrain can manually add an End system into domain and build topo for it. I am not sure what do you mean by "if it is only part of a neighboring L2/L3 switch NDP or ARP tables", here is an example that works:
1. Switch A has an interface and it is already in domain;
2. End System B has an interface and has no live access;
3. Manually add the end system to the Domain Manager > Generic Device
4. Manually rebuild the L3 topology.
5. The L3 link between the Switch A and End System B can be extended on the map.

1. Please add the interface information to the manually added device besides the Management IP.
2. Remember to build topo after adding the devices.

if this does not help with your issue, please send a ticket to Netbrain support team

Re: Manually add device
Your description works for Layer 3, however I would also like to add it to a Layer 2 map. Is there a way to do that as well?

Re: Manually add device
Yes, the manually added end system supports to build L2 neighbor, please add the MAC address to the end system's interface info. and then Manually rebuild L3(first) and L2 topo, then the neighbor(s) can be extended on the map.
