Default How to build L2 topo for a site/qmap

There are different ways to build a partial L2 topo for a site, or a LAN. You did a local benchmark on a site map via retrieve live data which is the 1st step, then youll need to build L2 topo via cache data.
Please follow the instruction below:

1. From a L3 site map, click benchmark in the floating menu > retrieve live data > select In Local to save the data to a local DataFolder (In Map is fine too, but if you close the map w/o save, the data will be deleted) > give a name for the DataFolder, e.g. site1-data > click start button, make sure all data (arp/mac/cdp) are success.

2. Right click any white space in the L3 map > Discover L2 topology > Options > check Via Cache Data in DataFolder, select above datafolder (e.g. site1-data), click ok > click Start Discovery button to build the L2 topo for the LANs in the site map > click Save button when done. You will have the One-IP table updated for the site.

3. If you only want to update the L2 topo on a specific Lan segment, e.g., then you can launch LAN Discover feature from Workspace menu > enter > click Options, check Via live network, set Max CDP hops to 1~5 based on how far your access switches from the devices in above Lan, click ok > click Start Discovery button > Save when done. And here are the video tutorials , and you can refer to Benchmarking and L2 Discovery for more details.
