Differences among Discovery, Benchmark, and Tune Live Access
The Benchmark process is used to retrieve data (Configuration file, Route table, CDP, ARP, MAC tables and interface information) from all devices in the workspace and pick up any configuration or topology changes. You can schedule the benchmark process in the server. The benchmark data is also used to build L2 topology.
The Discovery process focuses on discovering new & existing network devices and collecting data (configs, routing, cdp, inventory, etc.). It does not collect L2 data (arp/mac), so you won’t get L2 links from the discovery process.
“Tune Live Access” is a process to verify/loop all possible credentials (Tacacs account, password, privileged password, snmp_string) on every device to make sure NetBrain has full access to the device on icmp/snmp/telnet/ssh. This process does not collect data.
