Default FAQ: How does NetBrain access a network device? What setup is required in order for NetBrain to access the live network?

NetBrain will send SNMP query to a network device and also telnet/SSH to the device to retrieve the network data. This requires the user to enter SNMP RO string, username/password and enable password. All these credentials are saved in the device setting.

You do not need enter these credentials for all devices. You can enter all possible credentials in your network as the live network setting and run tune live access. The system will automatically find the matched credentials and set the device setting correctly.
