I am using the trial of netbrain. My network is as follows:
the 10.x.x.x address range is for the user side of the lan. The 192.x.x.x side is the data core, which is isolated from the 10 network (we are 100% virtual). The datacore consists of 3 equallogic SANs, connected through 2 lagged Powerconnect 6224 switches. The switches also connect to VMWare for data access. Netbrain is installed on a server that has access to both networks. It detects the powerconnect 6224 switches and the sans, but not the VMWare connections. Here is the odd part. Netbrain sees the SANS as directly connected to each other, and puts the switches as orphans with nothing attached! Also no info on the VMWare virtual machines conected to it. Any ideas? Here is the running config for one of them: PS6224-A#show run !Current Configuration: !System Description "PowerConnect 6224, 3.3.10.3, VxWorks 6.5" !System Software Version 3.3.10.3 !Cut-through mode is configured as disabled ! configure hostname "PS6224-A" sntp client poll timer 1024 sntp server 192EDITED clock timezone -8 minutes 0 zone "LAX" stack member 1 1 exit ip address 192.EDITED ip default-gateway 192.EDITED no ipv6 enable username EDITED iscsi enable ! interface ethernet 1/g1 channel-group 1 mode auto mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g2 channel-group 1 mode auto mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g3 channel-group 1 mode auto mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g4 channel-group 1 mode auto mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g5 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g6 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g7 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g8 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g9 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g10 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g11 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g12 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g13 spanning-tree portfast mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g14 spanning-tree portfast mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g15 spanning-tree portfast mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g16 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g17 spanning-tree portfast mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g18 spanning-tree portfast mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g19 spanning-tree portfast mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g20 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g21 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g22 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g23 channel-group 1 mode auto mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/g24 channel-group 1 mode auto mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/xg1 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/xg2 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/xg3 mtu 9216 exit ! interface ethernet 1/xg4 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 1 spanning-tree cost 5000 spanning-tree mst 0 external-cost 5000 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 2 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 3 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 4 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 5 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 6 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 7 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 8 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 9 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 10 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 11 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 12 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 13 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 14 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 15 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 16 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 17 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 18 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 19 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 20 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 21 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 22 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 23 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 24 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 25 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 26 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 27 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 28 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 29 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 30 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 31 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 32 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 33 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 34 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 35 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 36 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 37 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 38 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 39 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 40 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 41 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 42 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 43 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 44 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 45 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 46 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 47 mtu 9216 exit ! interface port-channel 48 mtu 9216 exit snmp-server community StorageArrayGroup ro exit |

Hi,
Thanks for you post. I am afraid that NetBrain does not support equallogic SANs currently. To look into the issue, can you send us a qmap? If yes, please do the followings: 1. Drag and drop these switches to a new Qmap, please also include Gateway Devices. 2. From floating menu click the “Run” > “Benchmark Network Devices” and save the data in map. 3. Save the map and send it to [email protected] Thanks Gerry |

The Equallogics are seen fine, All is great with them. It is the powerconnect 6224 switches that are not seen as connected to anything.
I would upload the map but your site keeps rejecting it. Last edited by bmartin; 06-09-2014 at 04:00 PM. |
