Default Dashboard data from API sources? ie F5?

I'm trying to put together a dashboard used for on-demand critical device monitoring. For example, I have a map that consists of our critical networking devices that our retail locations VPN to. On the same map has the backend datafarm infrastructure for transaction processing.

I'd like to have a dashboard of the topology, with simple SNMP polls from the F5 (traffic, throughput, connections, etc), as well as the IPSec VPN counts on the firewall, etc. This would allow us the ability to pull up the live topology and on a single pain of glass pull in relevant and detailed information from our critical infrastructure.

I'm unsure how to pull these assumingly standard SNMP requests from the devices, and then map them to the dashboard. Any suggestions, hints/tips, etc? API to get more info from the F5's?
